Due to current weather conditions, the Town of Ponoka has postponed its new Spring Festival at Lions Centennial Park.

Originally set for May 4, the festival has now been moved to May 25.

“While we’re pleased with the much-needed moisture that we’ve been getting this week, it is creating wet conditions in the park which have prompted us to postpone the Spring Festival until May 25,” said Andrew Jones, manager of Parks, Recreation and Facilities, in a press release.

“By holding the festival later this month, there is a strong possibility that the Splash Park at Lions Centennial Park will also be open on May 25 for families to enjoy, depending on the weather,” added Jones.

A variety of activities are planned for the festival, including bouncy houses, glitter tattoos, balloon twisting, crafts, yard games and more. Food trucks will also be onsite.

Drive-in movie

The drive-in movie that is scheduled for Saturday, May 4 will still go ahead as planned.

The 1980s classic movie ‘Back to the Future’ will be showing. Bring snacks, blankets and the whole family.

The arena washrooms will be open. Parking is first come, first served.
